Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Saute onions for 4-5 minutes or until tender. Add in the garlic and saute for another minute. Stir in the ketchup, water, brown sugar, chili powder and mustard powder. Bring to a simmer and add in the frozen meatballs. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low and cook until meatballs are heated all the way through.
Meanwhile, split the rolls in half and butter each side. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and toast briefly in the oven, until the rolls are hot and just beginning to brown.
To assemble: Place a meatball on top of the bottom half of each roll, making sure to spoon a little sauce on top of each one. Top with half a slice of cheese and the top half of the roll. Serve and enjoy!
Tip: This would work great in a crockpot! Simply mix up the sauce and add it to the crockpot with the meatballs and heat on LOW for 2-4 hours.
